An adventurous Day at the Stork Centre

The Nature Protection Federation of Germany, Regional Association Calau, invites everyone to an adventurous day at the White Stork Information Centre of Lower Lusatia on May 3rd between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Already at 8:00 a.m. a guided bird voice walk around the Stradow Ponds will take place. The rendevous point will be at the information board of the Stradow parking area. At 2:00 p.m. the first bicycle tour to the region's stork eyries will follow to show which of these are occupied by stork couples. Visitors can view, at no cost, the exhibits of the Stork Centre, participate in guided tours and watch the film about Cico and Luna "Someone walks in our Meadow" (in German only). Current information about the develpoment of the reintroduction of wolves in Lusatia.

Of course, one may also observe Cico and Luna at incubating and with a little luck also peek at the clutch of five eggs. The guided tours through the Stork Centre will be offered hourly. Members of the Nature Protection Federation have prepared further surprises: A colouring, tinkering, and quiz street for children, a booth for a do-it-yourself nest construction and insect hotel, and a petting zoo for the Little Ones as well as a wheel-of-fortune. The open air facilities and the refreshment shop at the Stork Centre invite you to an extended stay. For your physical well-being fried sausages and steak from the grill as well as waffles are available.
