The first Egg for the Internet Storks
"Cico" and "Luna" took the plunge and decided on the eyrie at the Vetschau White Stork Information Centre and relate well to each other. Over the past few days, they brought more and more nest materials to upholster the nest hollow.
Today, April 6, 2010 at about 6:40 a.m., the first egg was discovered by one of the Internet observers. We now anticipate further eggs every other day until five or six will complete the clutch. After the second egg the breeding will begin. The breeding period takes 32 days and we can hopefully await the hatching of healthy chicks at the beginning of May.
