The Regional Association Calau e.V. of the Nature Protection Federation of Germany, NABU Calau for short, is active for 20 years. The current 67 members reside in the region between Neupetershain and Luebbnau. In their free time they are engaged with nature, in nature and do something for nature. This year's plan contains walks, excursions, work assignments in forest areas and around the Repten Ponds as well as presentations of nature-relevant subjects and events for the protection of species. In order to present the activities of NABU to the public, NABU's Regional Association Calau e.V. combines this year the already traditional "Day of the open Door" with a "Nature Adventure and Information Day" on May 8, 2010 at the Vetschau White Stork Information Centre.

In addtion information will be available on wasps, hornets or bats of our district. Everything on the theme of white storks the interested person may pose to the White Stork Associates. Of course, possibilties to build nest boxes will also be offered.
On this weekend the Germany-wide "Hour of the Garden Birds" will also be held. For this "Bird Experts" will answer question with respect to the world of birds around us. On this May 8, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the White Stork Information Centre Vetschau, Spree Forest, interested persons and guests are cordially invited to experience and one or more friend(s) of nature even decide to become a co-worker of the Nature Protection Federation beyond the "Nature Adventure Day".
