It is a good Stork season in 2010

Cico, Luna and their four young ones at the Vetschau Internet eyrie are in the best of health and at present the season runs ideally.

This can be said about the whole of the Calau region.

There are a large amount of three and four brood sites and comparatively few losses. Of the known 33 occupied locations we could register 28 couples with 83 stork chicks, in contrast to 2009 when only 68 chicks were registered.

This year the average lies at three young ones per couple.

We wish that by the end of the stork season all of these stork chicks will have become fledglings and can embark on their long journey to their winter quarters.
