Stork Chicks lift off

"Our" stork family endured the horrendous storm of Wednesday last without ill effects. In the meantime the plumage of the young storks has developed to the point where they are beginning to try out their wings. They are practicing excellently and in a day or two they will lift off the eyrie for the first time. After initial small jumps they will ever so much improve and we can then witness as they will flutter three to ten feet (one to three metres) high above the nest. The web camera is now adjusted in such a manner that the "air space" above the eyrie is well covered and the exiting flight maneuvers of our young storks, Envi, Nabi and Peace can be watched closely.
