"Stork Days" on May 11th at Vetschau

It is a definite "must" for every stork fan: A visit to the White Stork Information Centre at Vetschau/Spree Forest, Drebkauer Street 2a. A good opportunity presents itself on Sunday, May 11th, 2003 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The complete "Storkteam" is at the disposal of visitors on the "Day of the open Door" to answer questions. "We offer all visitiors an eventful day with the Internet Storks", promises Winfried Boehmer.

A manifold program presents a rich variety through the exhibits of different nature preservation themes in the building and the surrounding garden. It is suited especially for family tours. Of course, a peek into the stork eyrie via the camera, or at the video presentation of interesting scenes of last year must be included. Whoever is inclined to build a birdhouse or an insect hotel may, at a small price, purchase the necessary materials. Expert advive will be available. Children especially may want to visit the "Tinker-, Paint- and Quiz-streets. They may also try their hands at whittling and/or basket weaving. A "Beverage Barn" adjacent to the Stork Centre looks after the visitors' sustenance.
