Marketing of storks?

A discussion regarding "marketing" of animals was started in our guestbook. As operators of the site, we, the project partners and sponsors, would like to add a few facts. envia, NABU and envia.tel have a contract, it states: The aim of the common activities is to popularize the protection of storks.

The tasks are also contractually limited: The NABU acts as expert and author in stork matters. envia and envia.tel bear the costs of technology, editorship and data traffic. This is not a small undertaking, the professional quality at hand is ample proof for everyone.

And it is becoming bigger, for such extensive, lively traffic at the site had not been anticipated. For instance, half the money allotted to 2002 traffic costs was spent during by first month.

Yet, the fans want more: A forum, further technical refinements. We ask for your understanding, that this "stork nest" cannot be a money tree as well. Presently the producers of this site are seriously considering how the rapid increase of costs can be absorbed. The aspersion "marketing" might even be a suggestion. Yet, a reason for reproach we would not even see here: What harm would an advertising banner to support the Internet site do to the storks? Especially since through www.storchennest.de they found so many friends. So much for the subject "marketing" of animals.

The money which You, dear Donors, make available to NABU for species and biotop protection is solely the matter of NABU and the donors. It has nothing to do with the operation of this site.
