Stork Love ignited

Stork Couple complete since April 3rd at 10 Minutes to 1:00 a.m. During the night at ten minutes to one o'clock the "right" female stork obviously landed at the eyrie. She was accepted by the waiting male. As greeting both storks laid their heads with ample of clatter onto their backs. That both are of one mind became apparent quickly and a new - "old" stork love ignited. On Sunday storks again and again storks attempted to occupy the eyrie. Among them a female which received some attention from the eyrie "proprietor" but was evicted by him in the end. Because neither stork wears a band, it will remain unknown from where they come and whether have bred here in previous years. Nevertheless, the numerous stork friends who have followed the storks' arrival on the Internet believe strongly that these are their darlings of last year, Cico and Luna.

The size of storks differentiates female from male, the former being smaller then the stronger latter. At this time they work diligently on the eyrie, hauling in new nest materials. Several copulations have also occurred already. The "Internet Storks" have found each other comparatively early. Only in 2002 and 2004 did they appear this early. The majority of storks does not arrive in Lower Lusatia until the middle of April. After five to ten days the laying of eggs will begin. From three to five eggs will be laid generally at an interval of two days. After an incubation period of thirty-two days the young ones will hatch.
