Stork Love lasts only for a Day

What's the matter with the Vetschau "Internet Storks"? After the apparently "right" female stork had joined the waiting stork on April 3rd, Stork Friends were very delighted. Most of all those who had followed the events live on www.Storchennest.de They believed to again see their dear stork couple Cico and Luna reunited. Both storks greeted each other with happy clatter and worked together on the eyrie. He nibbled lovingly at her plumage and they copulated frequently. Yet, the love only lasted one day. In the evening the stork chased the female stork away with blows of his beak. What is the matter with this male stork that he already has given an exit visa to the second female stork and has chased her away? However, as uncommon the behaviour appears to be, some years ago one stork behaved similarly, he "tasted" one after another and it took some time to find the right one. Is it even Cico, who is presently the "Lord of Vetschau Manor"? Or was the female not Luna and had to leave the eyrie for that reason?

These questions are weighed by the Team at the Vetschau Whit-Stork Information Centre, many Stork Friends and the numerous Internetfans. Yet, we are all optimistic that in a short time the fitting female stork will arrive and a successful brood will develop. The Information Centre is open to visitors from Tuesdays to Sundays and holidays between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
