The Journey of the Penguins - NABU invites you to a Film Presentation

The Nature Protection Federation of Germany extends an invitation to attend a presentation in Vetschau on Wednesday, August the 30th at 7:00 p.m. "Die Reise der Pinguine (The Journey of the Penguins" - this fascinating Film about the life of the Emperor Penguins of the Antarctic will be introduced by Winfried Boehmer and discussed with the guests.

Every years the penguins embark on a forced march through the pack ice of the Antarctic. In the faraway brood colony they search for partners, warm each other and propagate.

After the chicks have hatched, the parents alternate in the search for fodder, then the little ones are on their own. They brave the icy wind, the bird of prey and all the other dangers of nature. An animal film of an unusual character, staged by the French scientist and documentary filmmaker Luc Jacquet. It took one year to make the film, as long as the cycle of the Emperor Penguin. The result: A film which is assembled to be a tantalizing as well as a heart wrenching story.
