A day of events on May 5, 2007

The NABU Regional Association Calau invites you to the "Day of the open Door" at the White Stork Information Centre of Lower Lusatia in Vetschau. Free of charge, visitors may view on this day exhibits at the stork centre, participate in guided tours and watch diverse animal films. For families and nature lovers the do-it-yourself street offers the possibility to build nest boxes and insect hotels. On an paint and quiz street children may keep busy creatively. Parents and children may actively help storks by braiding willow baskets. These serve as underlays of stork eyries. In a addition a raffles with many interesting prizes await the visitors.

Fried sausage (Bratwurst) and grilled steak as well as ice cream made from sheep's milk, a very delicious specialty will look after the physical well being of the visitors. Tables, chairs and the beverage shop invites you to a longer stay. Of course, one may follow, in the visitors lounge, the live transmission of the best world wide known stork eyrie. Cico and Luna, the "Internet Storks" may be watched as they work on the nest and incubate their clutch.
