Information regarding the 2008 Stork Season

On December 7th last the representatives of enviaM and the NABU-Regional Association Calau met in Cottbus to deliberate with respect to the continuation of the joint Internet presentation of storchennest.de. On the part of enviaM Mssrs. Giesting and Krause participated while on the part of NABU-Calau Mr. Jentsch, the Society's Chairperson, and Mr. Boehmer, the Projekt Leader, participated.

The essential results of the deliberations were:

1. The cooperation will continue in 2008 and an agreement will be developed by the end of January.
2. enviaM assumes that reduction of costs will be successful, and suggests not to present Live-Video anymore. By reducing to a Web cam transmission the operating cost can be lowered substantially.
3. NABU-Calau would like to maintain the outstanding feature of this "Stork Website", that is the live transmission of picture and audio.
4. To accomplish both, to maintain the Live-Video transmissions and to reduce the costs, a number of suggestions were discussed which will be evaluated by enviaM before a final agreement has been reached. In particular will be investigated, whether the access to Live-Video would be at a cost to the viewer. This means, the User would purchase a year's subscription to be able to log onto the Live-Video.
