| Temperature regulation: On days with extreme heat storks protect their legs with droppings. They allow their liquid droppings flow down their legs. |
| Start of flying practice: At the beginning of July - Strong beats with wings to build up muscles. They already use the updrafts to lift off the nest and practice their coordination. |
