Regulation of Temperature:
July Since the beginning of July the parent storks first and later the young ones are chalking their legs with their own excrement. It is a typical behaviour of white storks at temperatures of about 30° C and intensive sunlight. This temperature regulation prevents overheating of the legs.
Start of Flight Trials:
10.July The wings of the first young storks are strong enough that he can lift himself above the nest for the first time.

All three young stork away from the eyrie for an period of time

Loss of nestlings:
14.June The youngest bird, Afri, was thrown out of the nest.
Leaving of the Eyrie:

11:00 a.m.: Parent storks mate, then fly away not to return again.

22.August

Shortly after 6:00 a.m. two young storks leave the eyrie for the last time. The young stork with band #H2822 remains in the area and stays at the eyrie over night.

24.August

A parent stork appears, lands at the eyrie during the day, cirlcles it, but does not stay over night. Young and parent stork do not make contact.

26.August

The last young stork starts at 10:45 a.m., circles the eyrie, elevates himself highre and higher, and disappears from view. Now the parent stork stays over night.

31.August

The parent stork is seen for the last time at the eyrie at 8:25 a.m.
