Urmas hat schlechte Nachrichten von Priidus Sohn.Urmas hat geschrieben:Should to come here again with sad news...
Priidupoeg has very probable found his end in Saudi Arabia. Transmitter sent signals from one place during two days before today. It is about 500km south from Tabuk and 50km from Red Sea, in a village.
I checked about possibilities to travel there, but that seems to be very difficult.
So if any of storkaholics has ideas about recovering of Priidupoeg's transmitter from SA, please write! Probably easiest is to find a person there, who is able to find by coordinates the bird, to take transmitter and send it back here...?

probably tomorrow goes Saudi Arabian ornithologist Abdullah Alsuhaibany to the Priidupoeg's last place.
He's found on page:

Thank you for finding him!
Let's hope for good news tomorrow.
Hier ist die Übersetzung.Jo UK hat geschrieben:Urmas had news from Abdullah Alsuhaibany in Saudi Arabia. Abdullah and a colleague went to the co-ordinates provided by Priidupoeg's back pack. Sad to say, they found that the bird was dead. A farmer told them them that he had found the Black Stork on October 7th, at 13.00. It was still living but very weak. He provided water and food. Priidupoeg did not eat or drink and died the same day.
The farmer removed the satellite transmitter and retained it for safe keeping. It will be sent to Urmas.
I should like to express grateful thanks to Abdullah and his colleague, who undertood the journey and the search, and reported the result so quickly. Giving proper acknowledgement to Abdullah, he is
Abdullah Alsuhaibany
Coordinator and Scientific Officer,
Techno Arabia Environmental/Reef Chief,

His colleague and companion on the search today is Dr. Mohamed Shobrak. He is a well known Ornithologist in Saudi Arabia, and he is also a member of the BirdLife International Global Consul
Abdullah Alsuhaibany took the attached photograph of the farmer who found the black stork ..In the pic, he is holding the transmitter and the leg-ring.
