Latest osprey whereabouts.......

The latest download of data from Mike showing the whereabouts of our ospreys, is as follows.
BREAGHA
He roosted overnight on the banks of the Vienne River on 26 September having spent most of the day in that region. On 27 September he was around the Lac de Tétine all day roosting there overnight. On 28 September however he was a little more adventurous. Between 09.00 and 15.00 GMT he was 7 km NW of the lake on the Loire River opposite the town of Montsoreau but he returned to roost overnight on the lake. On 29 September he returned to the same area of the Loire at 09.00 GMT and spent all day there including roosting overnight. The following image shows his location on 28 and 29 September.
OIGHRIG
Oighrig has spent most of the time within a 0.5 km radius area to the E of the town of Nagozobil where he has roosted overnight. This area appears to be quite wooded with a stream/river running close by when viewed in the ESRI mapping tool (current rainy season view) but is a dried up wadi on the attached Google map (the dry season view). He did make a couple of short excursions of around 2 km from this area at 08.00 GMT on 28 September to the coastal waters and at 16.00 GMT on the same day passing over a lake-like area 2.5 km to the SW of the roost.

Most of the time again recorded around the Rio Guadalquivir roost site but she has also been a little more adventurous over the last few days. At 07.00 GMT she was flying SSW down the Rio Guadalquivir some 3.5 km from the roost but she was back in her normal area by 09.00 GMT. At 15.00 GMT on the same day she was 2.5 km NE of the Rio and travelling W. The 29 September at 09.00 GMT recorded her 22 km NE of the Rio travelling W over a man-made reservoir on farmland to the E of the town of Brenes.
The next downloads will be on Wednesday and Saturday and these will be kindly done by Jayne who remember also has a full time job! It may not be possible therefore to do the Saturday download until Monday next. Shortly after these downloads the frequency of satellite downloads will change to weekly but it is not clear on what date this will happen.
