You saw Mrs. Katharina Illig banding our storklets, she does it every year and she is very experienced.
She talked about putting the bands correct together.
(In South-West Germany a stork was banded with two different halfs of a band. It has now 2 numbers.

And she was talking about what storks bring into the nest, like plastics, so the water can't run out of the nest and the storklets may drown or become cold.
You saw her removing a bit black plastics
Often the storks bring up binder twine, so the babies or the adults may tangle in it and die.
And once she found an opened newspaper in the nest.
It was the "Neues Deutschland" (New Germany), the former mouthpiece of the former GDR government.
