The Vetschau Internet Storks' Clutch is complete
Because our storks didn't lay anymore eggs during the last few days we assume that the laying of the fourth one completes this year's clutch of Cico and Luna.
The incubation lasts 32 days and the chicks are expected around the 12th of May. Equal status rules during the incubation period: Male and female take alternate turns. One of them always guards the clutch which includes rotating the eggs regularly in order to achieve even development of the chicks. The other partner searches for food in a rough radius of a mile. Also, the storks bring back nest materials for the nest hollow to be warm and soft at all times. Up to three quarters of an inch long branches and twigs are built into the nest edge.
We wish Cico and Luna a successful brood period and strength for the raising of their young.

Cico brought a twig with dry oak foliage.
Here in the video you can see, how he tries to put the twig into the nest.
It is a hard work.
