I've been away for a few days.....thanks so much for all the great photos and videos. Great video of the food fight....looks like they are getting fed well. First fledge should be in about a week....they are certainly practicing their wing exercises.

Good morning.
Maybe we will see the first flight at Sunday or Monday.
Today they are 55 days old. Usually they fly at the age of about 63 days.
But this is only a mean value. Some of the youngsters are faster and some need more time.
They are doing pretty good.
And the parents are real good provider.

WOW....great photos and videos

In a couple of Tina's photos where they are standing in same pose, one looks heavier than the other.
Does that mean one is male and the other female?

Hi Cheral, you can't tell who is male or female before they start mating.
There is no visibel difference between male and female storks.

They did some more exercises some minutes ago.
But I am not sure if there is good flight weather for young storks this weekend in Vetschau.
The weather is a bit misty.
do you remember how hot and dry it was in May? And now we have July and it is cool and wet.
The weather is going crazy.
