Ein leichter Wind und ein bisschen Mut gehören schon dazu, um als Jungstorch das erste Mal im freien Flug die Welt zu erkunden. So geschehen in den Morgenstunden am Freitag des 20.07.12 am Vetschauer Internethorst des NABU Regionalverband Calau e.V. Der Nachwuchs von „Cico“ und „Luna“ hatte bereits einige Zeit fleißig geübt und Probeflüge nah über dem Horst unternommen. So konnten Muskeln aufgebaut und das Gleichgewicht trainiert werden. Der erste Ausflug dauerte nur wenige Minuten und wurde vom zweiten Jungstorch mit neugierigen Blicken begleitet. Aus den anfangs noch holprigen Landungen werden schon bald sichere Anflüge. Die Zeit der Fütterung ist damit fast vorbei, denn die Jungen werden gemeinsam mit den Alttieren auf Nahrungssuche gehen und nur noch zum Schlafen an das Nest zurückkehren.
Wer die ersten Freiflugversuche des Nachwuchses beobachten möchte, ist herzlich dazu eingeladen das Weißstorchinformationszentrum auf der Drebkauer Str. 2a in Vetschau zu besuchen.
